Managing Director
Raphael Lebel joined Finance for Tomorrow in 2020 to launch the “Observatoire de la finance durable.” He coordinates Paris’s financial ecosystem around transition commitments, strengthens partnerships with public authorities and financial institutions, and promotes the initiative on the international stage, including at COP26. A board member of 2DII since 2024, he became General Manager of the newly merged entity, the Sustainable Finance Observatory. He holds a degree from Mines-Télécom and previously worked at WWF France, founds startups and digital companies. Alongside his executive role, Raphael teaches on climate and finance, supports impact-driven ventures, and volunteers with other NGOs
Deputy Executive Director
Emilie Maehara is the Deputy Executive Director of the Sustainable Finance Observatory. She has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of diplomacy, climate and finance. She worked on mobilizing climate finance in several city networks as Head of Finance Engagement and Partnerships for the C40 x GCoM Bloomberg Philanthropies Joint Programme and Deputy Executive Director of the Global Fund for Cities Development - FMDV. She previously held various position in the French public administration (Diplomat, Ministerial Advisor, Head of the Environment office at the Prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis).

Head of Administration, Finance and HR
Carole joined Sustainable Finance Observatory (formerly 2DII) in October 2022. She manages the financial and administrative aspects of the organization. Prior to being part of the Observatory's team, she worked as a Financial & Administrative Manager within a start-up in the digital sector. She started as an Office Assistant in London and by learning on the job could go up the ladder to where she is today. After 4 years in London she came back to Paris in 2017. She has a Master in European and International law.

Head of bankable sustainable solutions
Guillaume Lorentz has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, including senior roles at major investment banks such as HSBC. After five years working in market and model risk management, he spent 15 years in trading as a director in Paris and London, focusing primarily on structured products for global portfolios. His financial expertise has since expanded into sustainable finance, with a strong emphasis on the bankability of sustainable solutions through financial engineering. He has extensive implementation experience across fifteen countries in Africa, particularly in energy efficiency, sustainable cities, and carbon markets. At the Sustainable Finance Observatory (SFO), he leads the Bankability and Modelling Division, covering adaptation, biodiversity, energy, and climate-related topics.
Head of Retail and Impact Investing
Nicola leads the Retail and Impact Investing research programme. In this role, he oversees research, policy engagement, product development, and communications focused on how individuals can invest sustainably and how markets can better meet retail investors’ sustainability goals. Before joining the Sustainable Finance Observatory, Nicola worked as a sustainability consultant and analyst, where he focused on sustainability strategy, performance analysis, and communication projects. He also managed development of a sustainability assessment methodology used in over 150 company analyses. He holds a master’s in international politics, Administration and International Relations from Zeppelin University (with a sustainable development focus) and a bachelor’s in international economics and development from the University of Bayreuth.

Lead Sustainable Finance Economist
Edouard is in charge of the Transparency pillar of our activities. After research studies in economics at the Paris School of Economics where he specialized in financial and monetary economics and banking history, he worked at Rothschild & Co for six years, in various roles related to corporate financing wealth and asset management, from corporate banker assistant to private banker. He joinded the Observatory in 2024 and his work focuses on financial institutions' climate transition plans.

Law and policy Lead
David is a lawyer by training and specialises in sustainable finance and the intersection of research, policy and regulation. He has worked across international trade, emerging market finance and climate change consulting and holds a Master’s in Sustainable Development. He previously worked at ClientEarth, the UK-based public interest law firm, where he focused on regulatory and legal strategies to improve corporate and investor transparency on climate-related financial risk, and engaged with financial regulators and government departments to strengthen oversight and accountability. He joined the Sustainable Finance Observatory in 2019 and provides cross-cutting support to research programmes on legal and policy implications.

Senior Lead, Operations & Grant Management
Over the past fifteen years, Javier has held roles in EU and international bidding, project and contract management, as well as operations and business management across several research organisations, primarily in the UK. He has been involved in both the pre-award and post-award phases, including call identification, project management, monitoring, and reporting for R&D projects. In addition, he has volunteered as a bid writer and administrator for several NGOs working in the areas of human rights, water supply and sanitation, and education.

Senior Sustainable Finance Analyst
Ana is a Senior Analyst working on sustainable finance within the retail and impact team. She holds Master’s degrees in Economics and in Public Policy and Development from the Paris School of Economics, following earlier training in Economics at the National University of Colombia. Before joining the Sustainable Finance Observatory in 2022, she worked at the OECD and held analytical roles in Colombian public institutions, including the Ministry of Trade and the National Planning Department, where she contributed to empirical analysis and policy work on labour markets, industrial development, productivity and inclusive growth. At the Sustainable Finance Observatory, she leads and contributes to quantitative and qualitative analysis, survey-based research, and the development and maintenance of MyFairMoney.

Senior Sustainable Finance Analyst and Scientific Referent
Dajana has a PhD in Sustainable Finance from the University of Nantes and has worked at the IMF and ESMA. Her studies covered various subjects related to climate finance, notably transition finance products, ESG ratings and financed emissions. She joined the Observatory in 2025 as a senior analyst in the Transparency pole. She is also the Observatory's Scientific Referent and liaies with PARC's Scientific and Expert Committee.

Nature-finance analyst
Lisa is a Nature and Climate Finance Analyst. Her work focuses on exploring solutions in the realm of finance and policy to reallocate financial flows towards nature restoration and climate adaptation projects. She joined the Observatory in 2024 after having worked in sustainable finance within the banking sector, following her studies in management and finance at HEC Paris, and Public Policy at the University of Tokyo

Project Manager
Mirindra specializes in sustainable finance and just transition, focusing on integrating social and environmental considerations into public policies and financial decision-making. She co-leads energy efficiency initiatives, developing financing schemes to scale up renovations. She sees energy efficiency as a cornerstone of a just transition, reducing emissions while addressing energy poverty and improving living conditions. Her work emphasizes inclusive financing tools that ensure the benefits of the energy transition reach those most affected by climate and social inequalities.

Analyst
Juliette is working in the Impact pillar of our activities. She holds a degree in political science from Sciences Po Rennes and a Master’s degree in sustainability science from Maastricht University. She has experience in interdisciplinary research and project management, developed through previous roles in research institutes and environmental NGOs.

Consultant
Mickaël is Consultant in research, which investigates the preferences and beliefs of retail investors about green financial products and the supply of those products by the financial industry. Mickaël is an economist with an expertise on matters at the crossroads with psychology and finance. That includes behavioral economics and finance, happiness economics and sustainable finance. He transmits his expertise through award-winning books, lectures in business schools, trainings for professionals and conferences. He is the founder of the Institut de l’Economie du Bonheur in Paris. Mickaël holds a Master of Science in Management from ESSEC Business School, a Master of Science in Applied Economics from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and a PhD in Economics from La Sorbonne University.
